WHAT DOES © MEAN?

It means that all our images have full exclusive copyright. All rights reserved.
That didn't help? Well, simply put...

Uploading, downloading, printing, copying
and scanning any of our images without permission
is STEALING and punishable by law.
We are a business after all and we strive to give you original works of art
and Copyright Law protects our work.

COPYRIGHT vs PRINT RELEASE
Photography is, in fact, an art form, just like your favorite band, painter, etc.
Every professional photographer is different, and it is up to you to decide how you value their art.
If a photographer sells you the full copyright to the images they have taken, by law, they are actually no longer allowed to display, edit, print or even post those images on social media... ever. They have released all rights to those images over you, as the purchaser. Now, you may think that is a great thing. But as an artist, it is not. Could you imagine if all the most famous artists released their work without getting any credit for creating it? You would never know the works of artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Picasso, Andy Warhol, or heard music from The Beatles. There would be no movies, no theater, no museums, no television shows. All art forms are available to us, because we give credit to those who help create it. We recognize the artists and their value is compensated.

This is where a Print Release comes in for a photographer.
When our amazing clients purchase the digital images from Bonell Photography, they are also purchasing the right to display those images created, in print and online. It is still an art, created by an artist, which is why it is illegal to alter or edit the images made by an artist. Just because it is your image, does not automatically grant you the copyright to that image.

When Taylor Swift writes a song about an ex, the song does not belong to the ex. He may however, purchase it and listen to it as much as he likes, but he may not change the song without her written consent.

With all that said, we would love for you to not only print our images from your session, but to also share our images with your family & friends online.
Here's how:

FACEBOOK, WEB, ETC...
These low res (web use only) images without our watermark, are also available for purchase through us, for you to post and share your session with friends and family online.
We occasionally post a few images from our sessions on our Facebook page. You are welcome to tag and share these images with your friends on your own page with only a few requirements;

1. Please DO NOT ALTER the images in any way. (Crop, color, edit, etc) ......This includes cropping out the watermark.

2. Please give Bonell Photography full credit by including the following line: ......

3. DO NOT PRINT the online shared images. At our low res web setting, you will not get a good print anyway, but taking the images online without paying for them is stealing.
For simpler sharing, find the image in our site and use our "Share", "Like" or "Tweet" buttons. Contact us if you would like to purchase a Digital Download of your images with the Print Authorization Release.

Think of it this way, we are a small business in a small community. Word of mouth recommendations mean the world to us and are very much appreciated. If you like your images, we thank you for "paying it forward" by letting others know about us with the photos you post.

YEARBOOKS, NEWSPAPERS, ETC...
If you would like to use any of our images in a publication, etc., simply email us and simply tell us how you would like to use our image in your request and we will get back to you. (Don't forget to let us know what image/s you want to use.)

Hey there!

I'm Juli Bonell - Beauty Photographer.

You could easily say that I'm a bit eclectic; an outgoing introvert who's obsessed with vanilla chai lattes, travelling, forensic science & zombies. I see beauty in urban decay, and I love yoga just as much as I love singing loudly in my car with the windows down. (Let's just say that last one's not pretty.)

Thanks for visiting my blog. Feel free to take a look around and connect and chat with me about your photography needs. Enjoy!
